The City of West University Place was awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) for its comprehensive annual financial report also known as a CAFR. The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.
“This is the 25th consecutive award for financial reporting excellence,” said City of West University Place Finance Department and Director Rhonda Daugherty. “We are proud to continue the standard of excellence as demonstrated by the receipt of this award.
Daugherty continued, “In addition to this award, we have received the Texas State Comptroller award for financial transparency for 5 years in a row, the latest Platinum Award was the first year this level was awarded. The GFOA is a nonprofit professional association serving about 17,500 government finance professionals with offices in Chicago, IL and Washington, D.C.
