West University police say they have nabbed four men suspected to be a car burglary ring.
An officer spotted a vehicle leaving the scene of an apparent burglary where a car window was smashed in the 2700 block of Fenwood at 4:16 a.m. Monday. When the fleeing vehicle failed to make a stop at a marked intersection, the officer noticed multiple occupants and called for backup.
Officers gave chase and four men — two adults and two juveniles — were finally stopped on U.S. 59 near the Main Street exit.
All four were arrested and brought to the West U jail. The search of their vehicle yielded items not belonging to any of the suspects. The District Attorney’s Office accepted burglary of a motor vehicle charges against the quartet.
One of the adults had a criminal record that included charges of theft, marijuana possession, and multiple assault charges against family members.
