WULL Seniors Advance to Semi-finals Today

Local News

The Senior Division All-Stars finished pool play in Bangor, Maine, with a record of 3-1, losing a close game to the Latin American team 4-2.

West U had already secured a berth in the semi-finals by winning the first 3 pool games.

Michael Streitmann took the loss Thursday evening, in a pitcher’s duel for the first five innings.  Streitmann struck out two, walked two, and allowed two earned runs during his outing.  The WULL Seniors were uncharacteristically tight in the field, with three errors that allowed 2 unearned runs.

The Latin American pitcher, Nelmerson Angela, had WU’s number, allowing only 3 hits, striking out 7, and walking just one.

West U will take on the home-town favorites from Bangor, ME today at 10:30 a.m. Fans who are interested in following the game can use a special site: www.gamechanger.org. It’s not streaming video, but a fun way to “watch” the play-by-play!
