One of three drivers who were racing each other at speeds up to 80 mph last Saturday on Buffalo Speedway was taken into custody for reckless driving by a West U police officer. The race was happening in the 5500 block of Buffalo Speedway when the officer activated his emergency lights. One vehicle was stopped in the 6200 block of Rutgers, and the driver was arrested. The other two vehicles were not located.
Another driver was arrested in the 5700 block of Buffalo Speedway last Saturday, for outstanding warrants from Travis County. He was pulled over for failing to signal a lane change.
Also on Saturday, a West U officer was dispatched to the Harris County jail to pick up a suspect who had outstanding warrants from the city of West u. The officer transported the suspect, along with his personal belongings, to the West U Jail.
On Sunday, a West U officer picked up another suspect at the Harris County jail with outstanding West U warrants. That suspect also was transported to the West U Jail.
A West U patrol officer noticed a vehicle with its dome light on and a damaged driver door lock while on patrol in the 6400 block of Wakeforest Sunday. Upon further investigation, it was learned that the vehicle had been burglarized. Officers collected evidence and generated a report.
Another West U officer on routine patrol Sunday noticed a vehicle in the 6200 block of Lake with heavy damage along the driver’s side. The victim stated that his vehicle had been parked in the same location overnight in good condition. The officer interviewed several neighbors, and was advised that a loud sound was heard at about 7:30 a.m., and a witness saw a vehicle leaving the scene.
Also on Sunday, an officer met with a woman at the West U police department about a case of credit/debit card abuse. The woman advised that her mother applied for a credit card that had never been delivered. She then was notified by the bank that the card she never received had been used in Houston.
On Tuesday, a driver with no front license plate was stopped in the 4200 block of Bissonnet,. it was discovered that the driver had a suspended license. The driver was
arrested and charged with the offense of driving while license invalid. The driver was also found to have several outstanding warrants with HPD.
A case of forgery was reported to West U police on Tuesday. Forgery. The victim
stated she contacted the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) inquiring about her 2013 joint tax return. The victim was advised their return was rejected because both her
and her husband’s social security numbers were used to
file a fictitious income tax return.
On Wednesday, West U officers were dispatched to the 2700 block of Nottingham in regard to a missing adult. Officers collected information about the missing person and filed reports.
A driver without a valid registration sticker was pulled over by a West U office on Wednesday, at 9:51 p.m. in the 6200 block of Buffalo Speedway. Upon further investigation it was discovered that the driver had a suspended driver’s license, no proof of insurance and outstanding warrants from the city of Pearland. The driver was arrested.
At 2:50 a.m. on Thursday, a West U officer observed two people walking in the roadway in the 6400 block of Weslayan. One person was arrested for walking in the road where a sidewalk was provided, and the other person was arrested for possession of marijuana.
Also on Thursday, a West U officer noticed a vehicle without a front license plate parked in the 3100 block of Cason on the wrong side of the street. After the vehicle pulled away, a traffic stop was conducted in the 6700 block of Vanderbilt. The driver was arrested for possession of marijuana and the passenger was arrested for the offense of possession of drug paraphernalia.
Shortly after 1 p.m. Thursday, a West U officer was dispatched to the 2600
block of Fenwood, in reference to a theft of a bicycle,which had already occurred. The victim stated sometime in the last ten days an unknown person(s)stole her mountain bicycle, which was standing on the driveway, behind the driveway gate. Information was
gathered and a report was generated.
