The West University Place City Council will hold a workshop and a regular meeting on Monday, July 28, beginning at 5:45 p.m. Residents are encouraged to attend.
During the workshop session, the council is scheduled to hear reports from the Zoning and Planning Commission, the Building and Standards Commission, and the Recycling, Solid Waste and Reduction Board.
During its regular session, the council is scheduled to hear a report from City Manager Michael Ross. At their last meeting, the council directed city staff to write a resolution opposing the Metropolitan Transit Authority’s proposed bus route along Weslayan St. The council also directed staff to continue looking for a transportation consultant to conduct a study about the impact of the proposed Weslayan bus route in West U.
The METRO Transit System Reimagined plan, which is aimed at boosting ridership and mobility throughout the Houston area, includes the Proposed Route #48 Weslayan. That route would carry riders between the West Loop Transit Center, through West U and Greenway Plaza, to the Northwest Transit Center.
There is still time for West U residents to provide comments on the proposed plan, but the deadline is Thursday, July 31. To provide feedback, go to: http://transitsystemreimagining.com/web/feedback-on-the-plan/.
