An officer was dispatched to the 2600 block of Bissonnet St in reference to a criminal mischief. The officer arrived and met with the complainant who stated that sometime between midnight and 1:00am on 3/2/14 an unknown suspect(s) broke his windshield with an unknown object without his effective consent. The officer collected information and generated a report.
Driving while intoxicated
At 1:24am an officer was investigating a reported criminal mischief case in the 2600 block of Bissonnet St and found the complainant to be intoxicated. The officer advised the complainant that he could not drive and needed to call a cab or find someone who was sober to drive him home. The complainant agreed but less than 5 minutes later got into his vehicle and drove off. The officer observed this and stopped the suspect who was subsequently arrested for DWI. The suspect failed a field sobriety test and a blood draw warrant was obtained and the suspect’s blood was drawn for testing.
Possession of narcotics
At 11:42 am, an officer observed a suspicious vehicle occupied by two subjects parked in the parking area on the north side of the commercial retail building belonging to Verizon Wireless and Baby’s First in the 5300 block of Kirby. Both businesses were closed at this time. After further investigation the front seat passenger was arrested for the offense of possession of marijuana and the individual in the driver’s side seat was arrested on multiple warrants.
At 12:47 am, a West University Place Police Officer conducted a traffic stop in the 6500 block of Buffalo Speedway. During the traffic stop it was discovered that the driver of the suspect vehicle had multiple open warrants for the City of West University Place. The driver was subsequently arrested for warrants.
At 8:59 am, an officer was dispatched to the 3800 University Blvd, the West University Place Police Station in regards to an identity theft. The victim advised an unknown person opened a pay day loan using his personal information. It is unknown at this time where the account was opened. A report was generated for identity theft.
