West U Police Report

A suspect who tried to cash a fraudulent check at the Bank of Texas on Christmas Eve was arrested and placed into custody for the offense of forgery. A West U Police Officer made the arrest at about 11:35 a.m., at the bank, which is located in the 5000 block of Kirby.

There were no crimes in West U on Christmas Day, or on the day after Christmas.

On December 27, West U police picked up two suspects with outstanding warrants from West University Pace from officers in other jurisdictions.

At 2:05 am an officer was dispatched to meet with a Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Deputy at Highway 59 and Kirkwood to take custody of a subject with three West U arrest warrants. The officer met with the deputy sheriff and identified the subject and confirmed warrants. The subject was taken into custody and transported to the West U jail without incident.
At 3:00 a.m., an officer was dispatched to 500 block of  West Walker Street., in League City, to pick up a prisoner who had outstanding warrants with West U. The prisoner was booked into the West U jail without incident.

There were no crimes reported in West U on December 28.

At 8:17 a.m. on December 29,, a passerby located a wallet on the roadway in the 3600 block of University containing identity cards, U.S. currency, and other miscellaneous items. The reportee gathered the wallet along with the items and immediately took them to the West University Place Police Department located at 3800 University. The items are being held at the police department until the owner can pick them up.
There were no crimes reported in the city on December 30.

On December 31, an officer met with a West U resident at the police department about the theft of a bike rack from his vehicle. The incident happened sometime after 9:30 p.m. December 30 and 8:30 a.m. December 31.

On December 31, a West U office met with another resident at the police department about a case of identity theft that had already occurred.

On January 1, West U police responded to a motor vehicle accident in the 3000 block of Wroxton, where a driver had struck a parked vehicle. Officers made contact with the driver, who said he had been texting on his phone when he struck the other vehicle. As officers continued their investigation, it was discovered that the driver was in possession of a controlled substance. The driver was arrested.

Shortly after 7 p.m. on January 1, officers were dispatched to a residence in the 3900 block of Ruskin in regard to a reported incident involving domestic violence. The disturbance ended when officers arrived. Although there were no serious injury, it was discovered that one person had two outstanding warrants with the city of West U. That person was arrested for those warrants and simple assault.
