West U Crime Report

It was a very quiet week for West U Police last week., with no crimes reported on four days last week.

On March 27, an officer was dispatched to the 3600 block of Robinhood in reference to an unknown subject selling magazines .The officer arrived and made contact with unknown subject and placed him under arrest for violating the city ordinance- soliciting without a permit.

West U Police also met with two residents who went to the Police Department to report that unknown persons had used their personal information to file fraudulent federal tax returns with the Internal Revenue Service. The first case occurred on March 27, and the second case was report on March 30.

On March 27, a West U officer responded at about 7:40 p.m. to the 4000 block of Southwestern to a case of criminal mischief. The officer determined that an unknown person had discharged paintball pellets at the victim’s residence and vehicle.

On March 28, a West U officer on patrol observed a vehicle with defective brake lights at the traffic signal in the 3100 block of University Blvd. The officer conducted a traffic stop, and the driver was arrested for driving without a driver’s license and for failing to maintain financial responsibility.

There were no crimes reported to West U Police on March 29, 31, April 1 and April 2.
