The tennis court at Judson Park will be temporarily closed beginning on March 3, 2014. During the closure, the asphalt court will be demolished, along with the existing fencing and lighting system. A new, post-tension concrete tennis court will be built within the same footprint. Also included in the replacement project is new, vinyl clad fencing and a new, state of the art lighting system.

Weather permitting, the tennis court replacement project is expected to be completed within 90 days. The park will remain open during the tennis court construction. Patrons are encouraged to visit the tennis courts at Colonial and Wier Parks while the Judson Park tennis court is closed. Funds for the Judson Park Tennis Court Replacement Project were raised by the Friends of West University Place Parks Fund, Inc. though fundraising events such as Park Lovers’ Ball, Fathers & Flashlights, community partnerships, and the park pavers program. For information on how you can make a donation or purchase a paver, please visit the Friends website at or call 713-662-7430.
