The city of West University Place will soon mail residents an informational brochure with details of the Facility Master Planning efforts undertaken in 2014, as part of a two-step process before final consideration by the City Council in 2015.
The informational packet will highlight a planning process that included the hiring of a municipal planner, an unanticipated opportunity with the West University Baptist Church, and an upcoming decision with heavy impact on future possibilities in the block where City Hall is located, also known as the Municipal Block or Super Block..
“The informational packet all West U households will receive in the upcoming weeks will give them factual information,” said West University Place Mayor Bob Fry. “I urge residents to read it carefully and to contact us with any questions.”
After the citywide distribution of Municipal Block information, second step will be the city’s partnership with t the University of Houston’s Hobby Center for Public Policy Survey Research on a random survey of about 1,400 registered voters in West U.
The purpose of the survey is to gather feedback about the possible property exchange with West University Baptist Church, relocation of the Public Works Building and the long term vision for a municipal campus.
“Your input on this important City Council decision is crucial in ensuring an outcome the entire city desires,” Fry said.
Residents who are not selected for the survey or who want to provide input on this issue, visit the city’s website us and fill out the comment card or call (713) 662-5384. All feedback will be provided to the West U City Council.
