Xavier Students Trick or Treat for Hunger

October 12, 2012

Students from Xavier Educational Academy are trick or treating for hunger this Halloween and will be going door-to-door in West U asking for canned goods.

The Xavier Educational Academy Interact Club will be collecting canned goods for Loaves and Fishes and the Houston Food Bank. The club’s goal is to collect 5,000 cans, which will be divided between the two organizations.

The school’s Interact Club is one of Rotary International’s service clubs for young people ages 12 to 18. The West U Rotary Club sponsors the Xavier Educational Academy Interact Club. Interact clubs must complete at least two community service projects a year.

West U residents can donate to the school’s can drive by dropping off canned goods or monetary contributions at 3642 University Blvd. Suite 101. Several local businesses in West U also have donation boxes on site.

The Interact Club will also be going door-to-door on Halloween, asking for donations and canned goods.
