WUSA 12U Surge Finishes 2nd in Memorial Day Classic II Tournament
The WUSA 12U Surge fought through heat, mosquito swarms, and an exhausting one-day tournament schedule to take 2nd place in the “Memorial Day Classic II Tournament” in Angleton on Saturday, May 26.
The girls went undefeated in the first four games of the day, winning an exciting 5-4 nail biter in the winner’s bracket semifinal against the Sugar Land Express. The Surge’s only loss of the day came in the final game to the Alvin Bayou Babes.
Up next for the Surge is a much deserved weekend off, then on to the “All Star Extravaganza Tournament” in The Woodlands, June 8-10.
WUSA, one of the state’s largest girls youth softball associations, began in 1979 and has grown to involve more than 500 girls from ages 5 to 14. WUSA is an all volunteer association including a board of directors and woman’s auxiliary.
