WULL Challenger League Opens With Buddies From Strake Jesuit

West U. Little League’s Challenger Division’s fifth season opened with 103 players and more than 250 buddies.  Games will be played each Sunday, excluding Easter and Mother’s Day Sundays, at 2 p.m. at the WULL fields.  Elliott Lapin will be the announcer.  The season will culminate with a celebration following the last games on May 17.  Hometown Hero Chef/Ump Randy Bullard and the West U. Rotary will prepare a barbeque meal for the event.

Each week, local high school baseball teams will assist as buddies for the Challenger players. For the season opener, the Strake Jesuit College Preparatory Crusaders assisted along with head Coach Raul Garcia-Rameau.  Father Daniel Lahart gave the invocation and senior Patrick Blizzard threw the first pitch to senior Garrett Staudt. Sharikki Sam sang the National Anthem

 

West U.
