Woman Arrested For Drunkenness, Urinating In Public
West University Police on Sept. 26 arrested a woman after an officer saw her urinating behind a parked vehicle in the 2600 block of Barbara Lane. After speaking with the woman, the officer noticed she was drunk and arrested her for public intoxication. Three other women were in the parked vehicle, and the officer also arrested two of them for outstanding warrants. They both had previous charges for theft, traffic violations and prostitution.
Also on Sept. 26 an officer arrested a man for public intoxication around 4 a.m. after seeing him try to knock over a construction barricade sign, and then walk “unsteady on his feet” to a business near the 2600 block of Bissonnet. The officer smelled alcohol, and noticed the man had slurred speech and glassy eyes. The man was “swaying to the point that the officer assisted him to prevent him from falling,” according to the police report.
During the week of Sept. 20 to 26, West U police responded to two car burglaries. One occurred on Sept. 22 in the 6500 block of Rutgers. The other happened on Sept. 24, and the vehicle owner reported that the thief stole a gift card from the center console.
On Sept. 24 in the 5400 block of Kirby, an officer saw a business with shattered glass from the front door littering the ground. He notified the owner, and filed a report.

A resident reported on Sept. 24 that an acquaintance had been using his address without permission.
On Sept. 25 an officer pulled over a vehicle in the 5400 block of Buffalo Speedway because its brake light wasn’t working. The officer found the driver did not have a license or insurance, and that the vehicle’s inspection sticker was fake. The driver was arrested.
