West U’s EGGstravaganza, Arbor Day Celebration is This Weekend

The City of West U will host its annual EGGstravaganza event and Arbor Day Celebration on Saturday, March 31.

Both events will be held from 9 – 11 a.m. at the Recreation Center, 4210 Bellaire Blvd.

The EGGstavaganza features an egg hunt, a train ride, a petting zoo, face painting and meeting Wally the Walrus from West U’s own Wally’s PoolSchool.

The event also features an opportunity to check out a West U Fire Truck and Police Car up close.

Families are encouraged to bring a camera for a photo with the Easter Bunny.

There will be an opportunity for families to learn about other camps and classes hosted by the Recreation Center.

All activities, including the egg hunt, will take place on the field next to the Rec. Center. The egg hunt starts promptly at 10 a.m. Admission is free, and the event is open to children up to age 11.

West U’s Urban Forester Craig Koehl will be on hand to distribute handouts and answer questions regarding planting and preservation of trees.

Residents may pick up one complimentary tree per household. Trees will be available for pick up at 10 a.m.

West U sponsors the annual Arbor Day Celebration as part of our participation in the Tree City USA program, which is operated by the Arbor Day Foundation. The city has participated in the program and been awarded a Tree City USA designation for the past 22 years.
