West University Elementary Students Wear Their Texans Pride On Their Sleeves
Today is “Houston Texans Spirit Day” at schools throughout the Houston Independent School District in honor of the Houston Texans football team taking on the Tennessee Titans this weekend.
Students, teachers, principals and HISD central office employees are encouraged to wear Texans team attire to show support for the players and staff who regularly devote time and resources to area schools.
Tune in this Sunday, September 30 at 12 p.m. CDT as the Texans go for their first 4-0 start in franchise history, and wide receiver Andre Johnson tries to complete the 132 yards necessary to reach the milestone 10,000 receiving yards for his career. If he does, he would become the 37th player in NFL history to reach that goal.
And the refs are back! After the NFL and the NFL Referees Association agreed Wednesday night to a new eight-year collective bargaining agreement, the game officials will return to the field for this weekend’s games.
Schools and parents are invited to submit digital photos of their support to the Texans’ communications department at Kristin.Putnam@houstontexans.com. (Photos may be used by the Houston Texans website and in future communications.)
