West U Senior Services Offers Many Activities Throughout August

West U Senior Services will be hosting activities throughout August, including exercise classes, presentations, trips and more.

Every Thursday at 2 p.m. they will hold open game day at the Senior Center. Participants can bring friends and a game or choose one from Senior Services collection. Game day is offered at no cost.

“Day-Trippers” will take place on Aug. 9 and will include Meyerland Plaza in the Senior Services Bus, providing door to door service to Chico’s, JC Penny, and Palais Royal. The bus will depart from the Center at 10 a.m. Registration is recommended in advance; the trip is first-come, first-serve with resident priority.

Senior Services will be visiting Moody Gardens on Aug. 10, departing at 9 a.m. Cost is $15 for a resident, $15.50 nonresident.

They will be offering Bunco, the dice game for quick-thinkers on Wednesday, Aug. 11 at 9 a.m.

Seniors can take part in a tour of The National Museum of Funeral History on Aug. 26 to learn about the unique heritage of the funeral industry. They will be departing at 9:30 a.m. Cost is $12 for a resident, $12.50 for a nonresident.
