West U Residents Can Dispose of Heavy Trash on Oct. 22
The City of West U will hold a Heavy Trash Day on Saturday, Oct. 22 at the Public Works Facility, 3826 Milton.
The event will be held from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. and is for residents only. Proof of residency will be required.
City staff will be on hand to unload vehicles. Residents are asked to approach the event from the intersection of University and College Street.
Most items will be accepted except for Household Hazardous Waste.
Items that are too large or heavy for curbside pickup, such as, bricks, concrete, junk iron and lumber will be accepted.
Residents that are disposing of items that contain Freon, like refrigerators or air conditioners, must provide a certificate indicating that the Freon has been removed from the unit.
Goodwill will be onsite to accept usable items, except for beds or bedding of any kind. Visit www.goodwill.org/get-involved/donate/ for a complete list of acceptable items.
Other items, such as, computers, printers, cell phones and laser and ink jet cartridges will be accepted and recycled.
