West U police want help in Brompton burglary

West U police are asking for the public’s help in solving a residential burglary that happened Thursday at about 12:45 p.m., in the 6500 block of Brompton. The suspect or suspects made entry to the home by smashing a back door window.There is no available description of the suspect or suspects at this time.

However, about 15 minutes before the break-in, the the resident stated that an unknown black man, wearing a black shirt,  repeatedly rang the doorbell and knocked on the door. The resident watched the unknown man get into the passenger side of a white, 4-door unknown make/model car with temporary paper license plates.

West U Police are encouraging residents to report any suspicious or unusual activity. Police also advise residents to activate home security systems at all times, even when residents are home.

Residents in the area of the 6500 block of Brompton who may have any surveillance footage capturing activity between the hours of 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. are encouraged to contact the West University Police Department at 713-668-0330.
