West U. Police Report Several Arrests Made Due To Traffic Stops
A woman driving in the 6600 block of Buffalo Speedway was arrested around 11:33 p.m. Aug. 27 after she was pulled over and police discovered she had four outstanding warrants in West U.
A driver going the wrong way in the 3800 block of Amherst around 12:30 a.m. Aug. 28 was arrested after he was pulled over and had no driver’s license or insurance.
A driver was arrested around 10:14 p.m. Aug. 29 after he was pulled over in the 6100 block of Academy for lack of a license plate light. When officers walked up to the car, they smelled marijuana. Marijuana and drug paraphernalia were found during a search of the car, the driver arrested, and the car towed.
West U. Police arrested a solicitor around 3:44 p.m. Aug. 26 after a resident reported him to police. The resident told police that she informed the solicitor that she was on the no-knock list, then gave police a description of the man.
An identity theft case that occurred in 2003 was reported to police on Aug. 27. The resident, who lives in the 2700 block of Wroxton, told police that five years ago someone used his Social Security Number and date of birth to lease an apartment.
