West U Police Report

On Monday, January 5, a West U police officer was dispatched at 7:46am, an officer was dispatched to the 6400 block of Rutgers in regards to criminal mischief. The officer met with the victim who stated an unknown person threw a brick through the rear windshield of his

vehicle. No entry was made in the vehicle.

Also on Monday, a West U officer met at the police department with a complainant about a case of identity theft. The complainant reported that unknown persons used his personal identifying information to fraudulently apply for credit, had opened a business entity and had filed false unemployment claims with several states.

On Tuesday, January 6, officer met with a resident at the police department about a case of theft. The complainant reported that her husband had discovered that two of his watches were missing from their home on January 3. She advised her husband no longer wears the watches but said that she needed a police report for an insurance claim.

On Wednesday January 7, at 10:40 am, an officer observed a vehicle traveling southbound in the 5700 block of Buffalo Speedway with a motor vehicle inspection certificate missing

the year of expiration. A traffic stop was conducted in the 3200 block of Amherst and after further investigation the driver was arrested for the offense of possession of marijuana.

Also on Wednesday, an officer from West U met with the Pearland Police Department to pick up a subject who had 2 outstanding warrants from the City of West University Place. The officer transported the subject to the jail facility where she was booked and processed without incident.

West U police are investigating the burglary of a residence Thursday in the 5300 block of Community. A resident there told officers she had left the home at about 12:30 p.m., and returned at about 2 p.m.,when she noticed that the window to the back door of the residence had been smashed. Officers conducted a search of the residence, but did not locate any suspects.
