West U Police Make Arrest For Possession Of Marijuana
West University Place police arrested Farrokh Fazli, 19, with possession of marijuana on April 7. Police pulled Fazli over in the 5800 block of Wesleyan for driving without a front license plate and no plate light. They detected the odor of marijuana coming from Fazli’s vehicle and he admitted to smoking before being pulled over. He also told police that there was more marijuana in the vehicle and his vehicle was searched.
On April 4, officers found a white male sitting in a parked car in the 3600 block of Duke, who had been smoking marijuana. Police found marijuana and drug paraphernalia in the car. This case is under investigation.
During the week of April 4-10, three people were caught driving with a suspended license.
On April 4, an officer pulled over a vehicle for running a red light at Buffalo Speedway and Sunset. The driver had a suspended license and didn’t have insurance. The driver was taken into custody.
On April 4, John Elder, 53, was pulled over for driving 45 mph in a 35 mph zone in the 4200 block of Bissonnet. Elder was arrested for driving with a suspended license. This was Elder’s third arrest for driving with an invalid license, Lt. Charlie Deily said.
On April 5, Louisa Blankenship, 51, was arrested for having a suspended license and no insurance for her ’07 green jeep liberty, in the 3100 block of Holcombe.
Two people reported break-ins last week.
On April 7, a resident reported that her car window had been broken and a laptop was stolen from the passenger seat in the 2600 block of Bissonnet.
On April 8, a resident reported to the police that someone had broken into his home in the 3000 block of Carnegie and taken things without his permission.
