September 25, 2009

Around 3.45 a.m. on Sept. 16, West U Police were lead on a car chase after trying to pull over a white Nissan for driving with no headlights. Police reports say that when the officer turned on his lights in the 2900 block of Lafayette, the Nissan and a silver Toyota SUV that had been following it both fled in different directions.

The Houston Police Department had reported both vehicles stolen in aggravated robbery cases.

The car and SUV eventually converged near Griggs and Tierwester and both vehicles crashed. Three suspects in the SUV fled on foot and escaped a chase by police, a K-9 unit and a helicopter.

Two suspects in the Nissan also ran, but police caught them. The juvenile driver faces charges of evading arrest and robbery. The adult passenger has possible charges pending. Both suspects have criminal histories that include charges of theft, drug offenses and terroristic threat.
