WEST U POLICE: 3 Burglaries, Theft, Drugs
Dead on Arrival
At 5:42 am, police officers were dispatched to the 6300 block of Vanderbilt, in reference to an unconscious subject at a residence. It was discovered that an elderly subject had passed away due to medical complications. Information was gathered and a report was generated.
Driving while license suspended
At 11:40a.m., an officer observed a vehicle traveling westbound in the 4100 block of Bissonnet. The vehicle displayed an expired inspection sticker and defective equipment. A traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle in the 4400 block of Bissonnet for the violations. Upon contact with the driver, and through investigation it was discovered the driver was operating the vehicle on a suspended license and expired insurance. The driver was subsequently taken into custody for class b-driving while license invalid.
At 12:42 pm, an officer was dispatched to the 3800 block of Swarthmore in regards to mailed package missing from the front porch of a residence. The victim saw the package on the front porch before leaving the house. When the victim returned home she discovered the package had been removed. The victim stated she did not give anyone permission to take the package and believes it was stolen. Officers checked the area and were unable to locate any suspects at this time.
Burglary of Habitation
At 6:43 p.m. officers were dispatched to the 4200 block of Emory for report of burglary in progress. The suspect entered the residence, through an unlocked front door, without the effective consent of the owners. The suspect was immediately scared away by the resident. The suspect fled in an unknown direction. Officers from three separate agencies searched the surrounding area for any suspects(s), but none were located. No injuries or items missing from the residence were reported.
Burglary of motor vehicle
At 09:14 pm, an officer was dispatched to the 6100 block of Edloe for a burglary of a motor vehicle that had already occurred. The reportee advised that unknown person(s) shattered his vehicle’s door window with an unknown object and removed his property without his consent. The officer arrived and a report for burglary of a motor vehicle was completed.

At 12:07 am, an officer was dispatched to 8300 Mykawa to pick up a subject who had outstanding warrants with The City of West University Place. The subject was transported to the West University Place jail without incident and booked on the warrants.
Possession of Narcotics
An officer observed a vehicle traveling northbound at 46 mph in a 30 mph speed zone in the 6500 block of Buffalo Speedway. The officer initiated a traffic stop in the 6400 block of Buffalo Speedway on the vehicle. Upon further investigation, it was discovered that the driver was in possession of an illegal drug. The driver was arrested and charged with the offense of possession of marijuana.
Burglary of motor vehicle
At 2:11 pm, an officer was dispatched to the 5300 block of Rutgers in reference to a burglary of a motor vehicle that had already occurred. Upon the officer’s arrival, the complainant stated an unknown person(s) smashed the rear driver’s side passenger window of her suburban and removed a gift bag containing some food items without her consent.
