West U Holding Heavy Trash Day on Saturday
West U residents can dispose of items that are too large to put out for curbside pickup during the city’s Heavy Trash Day on Saturday.
The event will be held at the Public Works Facility, 3826 Milton from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Residents are asked to approach the event from the intersection of University and College. Staff will be available to unload vehicles.
The city will take almost any item, except for Household Hazardous Waste. Items that are too large or heavy for curbside pickup, such as, bricks, concrete, junk iron, lumber, etc. will be accepted.
Residents disposing of any items that contain Freon, like refrigerators, air conditioners, etc., must provide a certificate indicating the Freon has been removed from the unit.
Goodwill will be on site to accept usable items, except for beds or bedding of any kind. Other items, such as, computers, printers, cell phones, laser & ink jet cartridges, etc. will be accepted and recycled.
The event is open to residents only; proof of residency will be required.
