West U Heavy Trash Day is Oct. 27
The City of West U will host a heavy trash day for residents on Saturday, Oct. 27.
The event will be held at the West U Public Works Maintenance Facility, 3826 Milton from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Residents can dispose of almost any item except for Household Hazardous Waste.
Items that are not accepted for regular curbside trash pickup, such as, bricks, concrete, junk iron, lumber, etc. will be accepted.
To dispose of any items that have freon (refrigerators, air conditioners, etc.), residents must provide a certificate indicating the freon has been removed from the unit.
The Salvation Army will be on site to accept usable items, such as, clothing, household items (working appliances, dishes, pots, pans, silverware), jewelry, linens (no stains or tears), furniture (no tears or stains), sporting goods, bed frames with all hardware, and working bicycles, working TV’s and stereos.
The city will be accepting e-waste, such as, computers, printers, cell phones, surge protectors, and uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) to be recycled.
City staff will be available to unload vehicles. Residents are asked to approach the event from the intersection of University and College Street.
Proof of residency is required.
