West U Easter Spring Festival, Arbor Day is March 23
The City of West U Parks and Recreation Department is hosting its annual Easter/Spring event on Saturday, March 23 from 9 – 11a.m.
All activities will take place on the field next to the Recreation Center at 4210 Bellaire Blvd. Admission is free, and the event is open to children up to age 11.
Highlights of the event include games, a scavenger hunt, a train ride, a petting zoo and face painting.
Meet Wally the Walrus from West U’s own Wally’s Pool School and learn about other camps and classes hosted by the Recreation Center. Parents are encouraged to bring a camera for a photo with the Easter Bunny.
Residents are encouraged to stop by the Recreation Center between March 1 and March 21 to participate in the “Guess the Number of Eggs in DiEGGo Tower” contest. Entry forms will be available at the front desk. Winners will be announced at 10 a.m. during the festival.
In conjunction with the Easter Spring Festival this year, the city will also hold its annual Arbor Day Celebration. West U Urban Forester Craig Koehl will be on hand to distribute handouts and answer questions regarding planting and preservation of trees. Residents may pick up one complimentary tree per household.
