West U doc paints inner beauty of the kidney
Is it a flower, pop art? What exactly is that on Dr. Regina Verani’s canvas?
As a renal pathologist, Verani sees unusual things under her microscope when she’s diagnosing patients. She studied results until she memorizes their images.
As an artist, she wanted to share her vision on canvas.
“It’s always been in the back of my mind,” said Verani, a Brazilian native who lives in West University and works at the University of Texas Medical School “I’ve liked to paint since I was a little girl.”
