West U Crime: Burglary, Narcotics and Warrant Arrests
Burglary of a Habitation
At 1121 hours, officers responded to a burglary alarm in the 2700 block of Carolina Way. Officers discovered the back door had signs of forced entry. Officers entered the home but did not locate any suspects inside. The home owners arrived and determined that no items were taken.
Driving While License Suspended
At 1235 hours, an officer observed a vehicle operating with an expired registration sticker. Upon making a contact with the driver, the officer discovered the driver had an invalid license. The driver was arrested.
At 0043 hours, an officer was dispatched to the 6700 block of IH 610 to meet with an officer from Bellaire Police Department who had an individual in custody with West University Place Warrants. The officer took custody of the individual and transported him to West University Place Police Department.
Possession of Narcotics
At 0715 hours, an officer observed a vehicle with an expired registration sticker in the 5800 block of Buffalo Speedway. During the traffic stop it was discovered that the driver had 9 arrest warrants and narcotics inside the vehicle. The driver was arrested and transported to the West University Place Police Department.
At 0043 hours, an officer was dispatched to 61 Reisner, HPD Central Jail, to pick up an individual who had warrants with West University Place. The officer took custody of the individual and transported him to the West University Place Police Department.
Fictitious Inspection Sticker
At 1156 hours, an officer observed a vehicle in the 5400 block of Buffalo Speedway displaying an expired paper dealer plate. The vehicle also had an inoperable brake light. The officer initiated a traffic stop and made contact with the driver. It was discovered the driver had knowingly displayed a fictitious inspection sticker on the front windshield. The driver was arrested.
