WEST U CRIME: Burglaries, Evading Arrest, Drug Paraphernalia

Drug Paraphernalia
At 10:07 AM, an officer observed a vehicle speeding in the 4100 block of Bissonnet. A traffic stop was initiated and after further investigation, the driver was issued citations for possession of drug paraphernalia, expired inspection sticker and speeding.

Warrant Arrest
At 11:59 am, an officer observed a vehicle traveling in the 6200 block of Buffalo Speedway with an expired inspection and an expired registration. A traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle for the violations. Upon contact with the driver and through investigation, it was discovered the driver had warrants. The warrants were confirmed and the driver was taken into custody without incident.

Warrant Arrest
Officers traveled to Deer Park to take custody of a subject being detained for warrants issued by the City of West University Place. The subject was transported to the West University Place jail and was processed accordingly.

Burglary of motor vehicle
At 2:09 p.m., an officer was dispatched to the 3600 block of Robinhood in regard to a burglary of a motor vehicle that just occurred. Upon arrival, the officer spoke with the victim and witness who stated that an unidentified suspect used an unknown object to forced entry into a vehicle taking items without consent.

Recovery of stolen vehicle
At 3:20pm, an officer was dispatched to the 4200 block of Dartmouth in regards to a suspicious vehicle. The caller stated the vehicle was observed parking on the street by an unknown male suspect on 1/10/2014 and left over night. Officer arrived on the scene and conducted an investigation on the vehicle. The vehicle was found to be stolen out of Houston on 12/26/2013. The vehicle was processed for evidence and towed to a secure location. No suspects have been located at this time.

Minor Accident / Failure to stop and give information
An officer was dispatched to the 4000 block of Bellaire in reference to a hit and run. The victim stated an unknown person hit his driver side door causing damages and failed to leave any information. The officer gathered all of the information for the report.

Warrant Arrest
At 11:13 am, an officer was dispatched to the 3800 block of University Blvd to meeting a family member of a suspect who had one warrant with the City of West University Place. The suspect is currently in the City of Houston jail. The family member provided full payment for the fine. The City of West University Place released the warrant on the suspect. All court documents were filed properly.

Burglary of motor vehicle
An officer was flagged down by a witness who stated he observed a subject break into a vehicle which was parked at the Community Center located at 6104 Auden. The witness was able to give a description of one of the suspects as well as the suspect vehicle which was then relayed to other officers in the area. Officers were able to locate one of the suspects in which he was placed in custody for evading. The victim of the vehicle later came forward and advised officers that nothing was taken from inside the vehicle. The other suspect’s involved in this incident are still at large.

At 3:00 pm, officers were advised by a West University place employee of a suspicious vehicle in the 3800 block of Rice Blvd. Officers arrived in the area and located the vehicle. After commanding them to stop for contact, one suspect fled on foot and the other in the vehicle. After pursuing the vehicle, additional information was advised about a suspect behind the West University Baptist Church. After further investigation, the suspect was located and arrested for evading. The arrested suspect has ten (10) prior arrests. During the pursuit the suspect vehicle was able to elude officers at this time.

Minor Accident / Failure to stop and give information
At 3:15 pm, a police officer was dispatched to the 6500 block of Academy in regards to a motor vehicle accident, where a driver to a vehicle struck the victim’s vehicle and did not stop to leave his contact information.
