West U Council to Meet Monday
The West University Place City Council will hold a workshop meeting at 5:30 p.m. Monday, followed by the regular council meeting at 6 p.m.
The council’s workshop meeting is an executive session to discuss real estate transactions.
The council is scheduled to hear an update from City Manager Michael Ross on the city’s long-range master planning, but that agenda item is listed for discussion purposes only.
The council also will consider an agreement that would allow MCRT Investments, Inc., to lease an aerial easement over a plot of land owned by the city of West U, as the company develops a multi-family housing project on the site of what is now the Black-Eyed Pea restaurant on Bellaire Blvd. The company needs to operate a crane that will swing over the city’s adjacent property as it builds an apartment complex. The proposed agreement would allow the company’s crane to be used during construction, at a lease of $250 per month. The agreement would not allow the company surface use of the city-owned land.
The council also is scheduled to renew its contracts with Tri-Sports Association and West U Aquatics for use of city facilities.
The council will also consider changing the schedule for their next regular meeting. The council plans to hold a town hall meeting at 6 p.m. on November 17, to hear from residents about the city’s long-range plan. That meeting will be held in the Community Building at 6 p.m.
