West U Cops Busy Chasing Crooks
Burglary of motor vehicle
At 1:01 pm, a police officer was dispatched to the 5600 block of Kirby in reference to a burglary of a motor vehicle, which had already occurred. It was discovered that an unknown person(s) forced entry into the vehicle by breaking the front passenger side window and stole several items. Information was gathered and a report was generated.

Possession of narcotics
An officer, was on uniform patrol in the area of 6200 Belmont. While on patrol in the area an officer noticed a traffic violation. A traffic stop was conducted and upon further investigation the driver was found to be in possession of marijuana. The driver was arrested and transported to the West University Place Jail where he was booked for the offense.
An officer observed a vehicle in the 4000 Block of Arnold traveling west bound with expired registration and different plate information. The Officer initiated a traffic stop in the 3900 Block of Northwestern on the vehicle. Upon further investigation, it was discovered that the driver did not have a driver’s license and that the vehicles MVI was also expired. The driver was arrested for the offense of driving without a driver’s license and for expired MVI.
Police Information Report
At 1:18 p.m., an officer was dispatched to the 3800 block of Ruskin in regard to water pollution. Upon arrival and through investigation it was discovered a suspect used water to remove latex paint from several brushes. Subsequently the paint substance went into the West University Place water drainage system causing unknown damages. Public works made location for further evaluation of the scene.
Assault / Simple
At 11:52 am an officer was dispatched to the 2600 block of Bissonnet in reference to an assault in progress. The 911 caller stated a male was attempting to drag a female out of a vehicle. This case is under investigation.
At 12:07 am, an officer was dispatched to Houston Police Department to pick up a subject with outstanding warrants out of the City of West University Place. The subject was taken into custody, transported to the West University Place jail, and booked on those warrants without incident.
