West U City Council To Discuss The Expansion Of City Hall, Police Department
West U City Council will discuss the expansion of city hall and the police department facilities during their regular meeting tonight at 6:30 p.m.
The council will discuss variances to city codes for the expansion, which include parking, building height requirements and fire separations for the buildings, among other things.
The current facilities require 58 parking spaces and the new buildings will require 102 parking spaces. The proposed plan shows only 51 parking spaces and after side street parking the facilities will be 20 spaces short of the required amount.
Council will discuss the proposed building exceeding 35 feet, which is the maximum height for any part of the building.
The main hallway of city hall, including the renovations of the conference room and break room will be fire sprinkled as well as the dormitory areas of the fire department and the fire apparatus bay.
City council will discuss and possibly approve the variances of city codes for the proposed structures.
