West U City Council Sworn-In to Second Term
All five West U City Council members were sworn-in to a second term in office tonight.
Judge and West U resident Ed Emmett administered the oath of office to Mayor Bob Fry, Mayor Pro Tem Susan Sample, Councilwoman Joan Johnson, Councilman Dick Yehle and Councilman Ed Heathcott in front of their families and friends.
All five council members ran for re-election and were elected to a second term in office on May 11.
Fry thanked the voters for re-electing him as West U’s mayor and for “bringing my city council back,” he said.
Fry said the council has grown in their job and will provide a much better service to the city over the next two years. He said they will be “very deliberative, very open and very collegial.”
“Whenever we make decisions, we’ll be looking forward to the future,” he said.
The city council also selected Sample as mayor pro tem. Sample has served as the city’s mayor pro tem for the past two years.
“Thank you for serving again, Susan,” Fry said.
