Weekend Crime: Suspicious Bicyclist Arrested for Public Intoxication
Failure to Identify
At 5:08 p.m., an officer was dispatched to the 4000 block of Bellaire in reference to a minor accident. Upon talking with the parties involved, the officer discovered that the driver of one vehicle did not have any identification. The driver did provide a name and date of birth to the officer. Through the investigation, it was determined that the driver provided false information. The driver was arrested for failure to identify.
At 10:51 a.m., an officer was dispatched to the WUPD to meet with a complainant in reference to a possible assault. The complainant advised the officer that a family member might have been assaulted by another family member. This case is under investigation.
At 11:39 p.m., an officer was dispatched to the 6600 block of Wakeforest for a report of a suspicious person on a bicycle. The officer located the person in the 6300 block of Wakeforest trying to ride his bicycle. Upon making contact, the officer noticed a strong odor of alcohol on the person’s breath. The person had slurred speech and swayed constantly while standing. The person was arrested for public intoxication.
