Weekend Crime Report: Police Wake Up Drunk Man on Simmons


Identity Theft

At 3:45 pm, an officer was dispatched to the WUPD lobby in reference to a case of identity theft. The complainant stated an unknown person(s) used his personal identifying information to open two JP Morgan Chase bank accounts without his consent.


Possession of Narcotics

An officer was flagged down by a passing motorist regarding a possible robbery suspect. Officers stopped the suspect vehicle and determined that no robbery had occurred but that the driver was a minor in possession of alcohol and in possession of marijuana. The driver was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and booked into the WUPD department jail.


Driving While Intoxicated

At 11:30 pm, an officer observed a vehicle traveling northbound in the 5300 block of Buffalo Speedway, at a high rate of speed, with no tail lights, and a flat front passenger side tire. A traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle and upon further investigation the driver was arrested for driving while intoxicated.


Public Intoxication

An officer observed a vehicle parked with its front driver side door opened and windows down in the 5800 block of Simmons. The officer investigated the vehicle and upon approach, discovered a subject asleep in the driver seat. Officers made contact with the sleeping subject and after further investigation determined that the subject was intoxicated and posed a threat to his self or the public if released. The subject was arrested for public intoxication and transported to west university place jail for book-in.


Telephone Harassment

An officer responded to the 2700 block of Arbuckle in reference to a telephone harassment incident. The victim received several text messages and phone calls from an unknown person starting the night before. A report of telephone harassment was completed.
