Weekend Crime Report: Man Offered Drugs While Walking on University
Driving While Intoxicated
At 2:06 p.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop in the 3200 block of Tangley for an offense that occurred in the 5400 block of Buffalo Speedway. During the course of the investigation, it was discovered that the driver was intoxicated. The driver was arrested for the charge of driving while intoxicated.
At 1:45 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 4000 block of Bellaire in reference to telephone harassment. Officers arrived and met with the complainant who stated that a customer has been calling making harassing telephone calls. Officers collected information and generated a report.
An officer was dispatched to 3800 block of University to meet a complaint in the lobby in regards of an attempt of narcotics being sold to him while he was walking with friends in 3300 block of University.
At 11:10 p.m., an officer was dispatched to the 4200 block of Albans for a report of a failure to stop and give information incident involving a parked vehicle. I spoke with the reportee who said an unknown vehicle struck his parked vehicle sometime between 5:00 p.m. on 2-10-12 and 11:00 p.m. on 2-11-12.
Dead on Arrival
On 2/11/12 at 11:21 p.m., an officer was dispatched to a residence located in the 3600 block of Cason in regard to a report of a natural death that had already occurred. Upon arriving and after a brief investigation, it was discovered that the elderly resident had died from natural causes.
Possession of Narcotics
At 5:04 p.m., an officer investigated a suspicious vehicle parked next to a business in the 5300 block of Kirby. The officer found a subject sleeping in the vehicle and upon contacting the individual discovered he was in possession of marijuana. The subject was arrested for possession of marijuana.
