Weekend Crime Report: Homeless Man Arrested for Public Intoxication
At 0936 hours, an officer was dispatched to the 5500 block of Kirby near the Bank of Texas in regard to a suspicious person. Dispatch advised that the reportee stated that a homeless male subject was asleep near the bank and had several open containers around him. Upon the officer’s arrival, it was discovered that there were several open alcoholic beverage containers around the male subject while he was incident on the sidewalk. Officers made contact with the subject and was later placed in custody for the offense of public intoxication. The subject was transported to the West University Place jail where he was booked and processed without incident.
Public Information Summary
At 11:36 a.m., an officer was dispatched to the West University Place Police Department in regard to a report of fraud that had already occurred. The victim advised that the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) was already working a fraud case for him; however, he needed a basic information report so the IRS could have a local Police Department case number for their investigation records. After hearing some details into the situation, an information report was generated.
Driving While Intoxicated
At 1:09 a.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop in the 3100 block of Tangley for an offense that occurred in the 5900 clock of Buffalo Speedway northbound. During the course of the traffic stop, it was suspected that the driver had been consuming alcoholic beverages and was arrested for suspicion of driving while intoxicated.
At 1:35 p.m., an officer was dispatched to the 3200 block of Cason in reference to a minor accident. The reportee stated an unknown person struck his black GMC Yukon in the driver’s side rear passenger door and failed to stop and give their information.
