Weekend Crime Report: Burglars Attempt to Break into West U Vehicles
At 1:55 pm, an officer was dispatched to 3800 University, WUPD, in reference to an unknown person damaging their new vehicle. The complainant stated the unknown person keyed the tire cover on the rear of the vehicle causing paint damage.
An officer was dispatched to the 2600 block of Bissonnet in reference to an attempted auto theft. Sometime between 2330 hours on July 6 and 0020 hours on July 7th, an unknown suspect(s) forced entry into a vehicle and forcefully removed the steering column cover in an attempt to steal the vehicle.
At 3:58 am, an officer was dispatched to the 2600 block of Bissonnet in reference to an attempted auto theft. Upon arrival, it was discovered that the driver’s side door lock had been pried off and the steering column cover had been broken off. Information was gathered for a report.
Burglary of a Motor Vehicle
At 12:28 p.m., an officer was dispatched to the Saint George Church located at 5300 mercer for a report of a burglary of a motor vehicle. Upon arrival the officer spoke to the victim who stated he parked his vehicle in the church parking lot on 07/07/2012, at 10:15 a.m. and left the area. The victim returned to his vehicle at 12:22 p.m. on the same day and observed that the rear passenger window was smashed. The officer was unable to locate any witnesses during the time of this investigation.
Driving While License Suspended
At 10:43 p.m., an officer observed a vehicle travelling eastbound in the 3200 block of Rice with no license plate light. The officer turned around on the vehicle and the vehicle was stopped in the 3100 block of Lafayette. The driver advised that he did not have a driver’s license due to a suspension. The officer confirmed the suspended status of the driver’s license. The driver was placed into custody for the offense of driving while license suspended.
At 04:21 a.m., an officer was dispatched to WUPD to meet with a citizen reporting suspicious activity.
At 7:09 pm, an officer was dispatched to IH 45 South and Beltway 8 South to meet with a League City police officer, who had an individual in custody with WUP warrants. The individual was transported to WUPD Jail.
At 4:23 am, an officer was dispatched to the Ft. Bend County Jail to take custody of an individual with WUP warrants. The individual was transported to WUPD Jail.
