Weekend Burglary in West U

On Saturday, May 9 at 2:34 p.m., West University Place police officers were dispatched to the 2600 block of Sunset, in response to a residential burglary.

The victim told officers that an unknown subject knocked on her front door and told her that he was going to be trimming the trees in her backyard. The victim said that she and the subject spoke in the backyard. The victim stated that the subject then walked towards his vehicle and by the time she got to the front of her residence, she observed the subject driving away.

When the victim walked into her home, she discovered that her wallet and several other items had been stolen.

The West U Police Department advises residents to immediately report any suspicious persons or activity. Also, do not leave your home unattended and unsecured, and when it is safe to do so, gather as much information as possible about suspicious persons, including sex, race, attire or any unique. If possible, get a description of vehicle to include make, model, color, license plate, and direction of travel.
