Volunteers Needed to Distribute West U Recycling Information
The City of West U needs volunteers to help distribute door hangers to all 5,000 West U households on Saturday.
The door hangers provide updated guidelines for curbside recycling of paper, cardboard, glass bottles/jars, plastic containers, aluminum and tin cans, in addition to providing information on the proper disposal of Household Hazardous Waste.
Volunteers will distribute the door hangers on Saturday, Feb.2 at 9 a.m. rain or shine. Volunteer orientation will be held at the West U Public Works Department, 3825 Milton, between Auden and College.
Each volunteer will be given a pack of 200 door hangers and a mapped out area of 200 West U homes. It is estimated that it will take two hours to complete the distribution of 200 door hangers. Service hour slips will be provided to volunteers who need them.
High school students, families, scouts and individuals wishing to help are encouraged to volunteer.
