Volunteers Needed To Distribute Recycling Information
The city’s recycling board is looking for volunteers to help distribute information about recycling in West University Place.
On Feb. 6, the Recycling and Solid Waste Reduction Board needs high school students, families, scouts and others who are interested in volunteering to distribute 5,000 door hangers to homes around the city. Service hour slips will be provided to volunteers who need them.
The door hangers provide guidelines for curbside recycling of paper, cardboard, glass bottles, plastic containers, aluminum and tin cans and for RECYCLEXPRESS, the drop-off recycling center.
The board plans to give each volunteer 200 door hangers and a map of homes to visit. The volunteer work will probably take about two hours. Participants must pick up their materials on Feb. 6 at 9 a.m. from the West U. Public Works Department, 3825 Milton.
