Volunteers needed at the Christian Community Service Center
The Christian Community Service Center, or CCSC, is a nonprofit coalition that assists low-income families in the inner-city and southwest parts of Houston and is currently in need of volunteers.
In 2015, the organization helped 10,878 people received relief with every day necessities through two service centers. Additionally, 739 individuals were served in two employment programs and 11,126 children were served in the youth services programs.
The CCSC was able to help that many people thanks to the help of more than 2,000 volunteers.
The nonprofit is currently looking for weekly or monthly volunteers to help with all of the organizations’ programs. Possible volunteer opportunities include receptionist, food packer and interviewers.
Emergency Services-Southwest,in the Sharpstown area, serves the four surrounding zip codes. The food pantry provides five day food packets, hygiene kits, and rent/utilities assistance.
Volunteers help get incoming clients checked in, hear their stories to determine the proper assistance and referrals for their individual cases, and prepare their food and hygiene kits.
