Unlocked Car Leads To $11,800 Theft

Two adults and a juvenile were arrested Dec. 21 after West U. police saw a group standing around the 3700 block of Nottingham with alcoholic drinks in plain view. After interviewing several of the subjects, one adult was arrested for possession of marijuana, one adult was arrested for possessing a fictitious driver’s license and one juvenile was arrested for possession of a controlled substance.

 

 A woman was arrested for public intoxication Dec. 19 after she attempted to hit the manager of the Marquis II bar in the 2600 block of Bissonnet around 12:15 a.m. The woman was initially asked to leave the bar by the manager, and refused. As officers were escorting the woman out, she tried to hit the manager and was placed under arrest.

 

A resident in the 2800 block of Albans reported items worth more than $11,800 stolen from his vehicle between 3:45 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. Dec. 22. The vehicle was unlocked.

 

A woman was arrested for driving while intoxicated after hitting a parked car in the 2700 block of University around 10:12 p.m. Dec. 22. The driver told police she looked down, then hit the car.

 

A dog on leash bit a passing jogger on Dec. 23 around the area of Plumb and Charlotte.

 

A satellite radio was stolen from a car between 7:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. Dec. 23. The car was parked in the parking lot of a business in the 6700 block of Stella, and the passenger window was broken.

 

On Dec. 24, officers noticed a group of minors standing around a parked vehicle in the 2600 block of Amherst. An officer approached the minors, and saw a beer can and two purses on the hood of the car. One purse contained marijuana, and the suspect was taken into custody.

 

Officers arrested a man on Dec. 24 after a cab driver flagged down police near the Marquis II bar in the 2600 block of Bissonnet. The cab driver told police there was an intoxicated man trying to get into a vehicle to drive. The police found the man, and arrested him for public intoxication.

 

A white Ford truck fled the scene after striking another vehicle around 9:14 a.m. Dec. 24 in the 2700 block of Sunset.

 

Police were dispatched to the 2600 block of Fenwood Dec. 25 in reference to a found bicycle. The bicycle was brought back to the station, checked against stolen property records and placed in storage for safekeeping. Another bicycle was found in the 3500 block of Corondo Court on Dec. 25.

 

Items were stolen from a garage in the 3000 block of Amherst on Dec. 25.
