Two Cars In One Driveway Burglarized
A purse was reported stolen from a car parked in the 6400 block of Westchester Feb.5 around 2:55 p.m. Also on Feb. 5 officers were dispatched to the 2700 block of Quenby for a car burglary in progress. The victim told police that he saw the suspect in his back yard. The suspect was found in the 2600 block of Quenby, and arrested for criminal trespassing. Police later linked him to a car burglary. On Feb. 6, a resident reported that two cars parked in a driveway in the 2700 block of Robinhood were broken into.
On Feb. 1 a suspect was arrested for public intoxication after he was seen running on Wakeforest around 1:37 a.m. playing loud music from a portable device.
A driver swerving in the 5800 block of Buffalo Speedway was stopped and arrested for driving while intoxicated around 2:15 a.m. Feb. 1.
A resident reported on Feb. 2 that an unknown person used their information to open a satellite television account. The service address for the account was in Harris County.
On Feb. 2 Harris County Precinct 7 notified West U. police that they had taken a suspect into custody with outstanding West U. warrants from 2003. West U. police took the suspect into custody. The suspect posted a cash bond and was issued a court date in March.
On Feb. 3 a resident reported that their driver’s license was lost over the weekend, and wanted to file a report due to concern about becoming a victim of identity theft.
Two unregistered solicitors were citied and released Feb. 3 after knocking on doors in the 4100 block of Judson.
After watching a vehicle fail to stop at two stop signs – one at the intersection of Rutgers and University, one at Rutgers and Rice – a traffic stop for speeding was conducted around 12:15 a.m. Feb. 5 on Buffalo Speedway and the driver was arrested for driving while intoxicated.
The District Attorney’s Office declined to press charges on the suspect in an assault case reported on Feb. 6. The victim told West U. police that on Jan. 18 her ex-boyfriend assaulted her at a friend’s residence, and would not allow her to leave. He then allegedly damaged her property and assaulted her again as she attempted to leave. According to reports, the suspect paid for the damaged property.
A driver in the 3200 block of Rice was arrested for having no driver’s license or insurance after being pulled over for canceled plates and defective equipment on Feb. 6.
Officers arrested a man for public intoxication during a routine business check around 12:25 a.m. Feb. 7 at the Marquis II.
A passenger was arrested for possession of marijuana after being pulled over in the 5500 block of Buffalo Speedway around 7:50 p.m. Feb. 7. The car was stopped due to a headlight being out, and when the officer approached the car he smelled marijuana and pulled everyone out of the vehicle. A small bag of marijuana was found on the floor board and under the shoes of the right rear passenger, according to reports.
