Two Cars Damaged While Parked
West U. police were dispatched to the 3100 block of Quenby around 10:16 a.m. Aug. 31 is response to a resident whose car was hit by another vehicle sometime in the last 24-hours. The resident’s car was legally parked. Another failure to stop was reported around 3:35 p.m. Sept. 4 in the 3800 block of Milton.
Three cars in the 3400 block of Sunset were vandalized on Aug. 31. Police responded to the initial complaint around 12:38 p.m., and found two other cars with similar damage. The initial complainant’s car has scratches in the paint on three sides of the vehicle, and an obscenity was scratched into the paint.
Police responded to an attempted home burglary around 6:26 p.m. on Sept. 1. An unknown suspect attempted to enter the home in the 3400 block of Robinhood, but nothing was stolen.
On Sept. 2, the West University Place Municipal Court Bailiff took a man into custody for an outstanding warrant. The main was taken to the West U. jail, paid a fine and was released.
A driver was issued a citation for possession of drug paraphernalia around 8:43 a.m. Sept. 4 after officers pulled her over for traveling 46 mph in a 35 mph zone. The driver told police she had drug paraphernalia in the car, and was cited and released.
A woman in the 3200 block of Rice called police around 1:13 p.m. Sept. 4 after she found a table saw that did not belong to her plugged into an outlet behind her home. There was no work going on at her house at the time. Police took the table saw back to the station and took a report on the incident.
Around 11:52 p.m. Sept. 4, a resident in the 6700 block of Sewanee called police after arriving home and finding her front door forced open. Nothing was taken from the home.
Police were dispatched to the 6400 block of Rutgers around 11:44 p.m. Sept. 5 in reference to an altercation between family members. No one was inured and a report was filed.
A man was cited for simple assault after a witness reported to police that he kicked a woman her was arguing with around 11:45 a.m. Sept. 6 in the 4000 block of Bellaire.
A resident came to the police station around 12:44 p.m. Sept. 6 to report that someone used her checking account information to write checks at various department stores.
