Tuesday’s Crime: Burglar Uses Pass Code to Break into Home on Carnegie
Burglary of Habitation
At 7:02 am, an officer was dispatched to the 3100 block of Carnegie for a report of a burglary of a habitation that already occurred. The officer met with the complainant who said an unknown person(s) had knowledge of and used a numeric pass code to gain entry into the residence’s back door. Two iPads, an iPod, and an iPhone were taken without his permission.
At 4:35 pm, an officer was dispatched to the WUPD to meet with a subject who wanted to turn himself in for outstanding warrants. The officer arrived and confirmed the warrants. The subject was booked into the West University jail without incident.
Burglary of Building
At 6:45 p.m. an officer was dispatched to the 2900 Cason for a report of a burglary of a garage that had already occurred. The officer arrived on-scene met with the victims who stated that an unknown subject(s) had entered their detached garage at some point during the night and entered their vehicles that were parked inside of the garage. Nothing is reported missing at this time.
An officer was dispatched to the 4200 block of Southwestern in reference to a report of identity theft. The officer arrived and met with the victim who stated that an unknown suspect attempted to open a best buy credit account through capital one bank in his name. The officer collected information and generated a report.
