Tuesday’s Crime: Thief Steals Van From West U Street
Theft of Vehicle
At approximately 1:13 pm, an officer was dispatched to the 2800 block of Lafayette in reference to a motor vehicle theft that had already occurred. The complainant stated an unknown person removed his unsecured white 1997 Chevrolet van from the public roadway without consent.
At approximately 2:09 pm, an officer was dispatched to 610 Fannin in order to pick up a prisoner who had active warrants issued by the City of West University Place. A Pearland police officer had conducted a traffic stop on an individual and discovered that the individual had multiple West University Place warrants for her arrest. Upon the officer’s arrival, the suspect was taken into custody and transported to the West University Place Police Department without incident.
At approximately 3:00 pm, an officer observed a vehicle run a stop sign at the intersection of Belmont and Robinhood. A traffic stop was initiated in the 3500 block of Bissonnet. Subsequently the driver was found to have four outstanding warrants. Two of the warrants were with the City of West University Place and the other two with Harris County Precinct One. The subject was taken into custody and transported to the West University Place jail without incident.
