Time is Running Out to Purchase Tickets for ‘A Walk in the Park’

January 4, 2012

West U residents who want to attend the Friends of West U Parks upcoming Park Lovers’ Ball don’t have much time to secure their seats.

The highly anticipated event sells out every year and this year is no exception.

Friends Executive Director Donna LaMond told the board at its monthly meeting today that only a few seats are available.

The theme for the event is “A Walk in the Park,” which will take place at the Four Seasons Hotel in downtown Houston on Saturday, Feb. 11 from 7 p.m. to 12 a.m.

The ball will feature live and silent auctions, dinner and dancing to the tunes of Password.

The ball is Friends’ largest annual fundraising initiative to support the renovation, expansion, development and improvement of parks and green spaces in the neighborhood parks of West U.

Event co-chairs are Courtney and Scott Archer, Anne and John Freeman. The 2012 PLB’s Honorary Chairs are Vicki and Dana Grams, who are both on the Friends advisory board.

As of today, Friends has secured $207,137.73 in underwriting for the event.

To purchase tickets for the ball, contact Donna LaMond at 713-662-7430 or DLaMond@WestUTX.gov.
