Thursday’s Crime: Residents Report Stolen Vehicle, Diamond Rings
Theft of a Vehicle
At approximately 9:03 am, an officer was dispatched to a residence in the 4000 block of Marlowe in regard to a theft of a vehicle that had already occurred. Upon arrival, the reportee advised that when she walked outside she discovered that her vehicle was gone. A report for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle was generated.
At approximately 0950 hours, an officer was dispatched to a residence located in the 3600 block of Rice for a report of a theft. Upon arrival, the officer spoke to the victim who stated that on 12/01/2011, at approximately 0830 hours, she noticed that her two diamond rings were missing from her jewelry box. The victim advised that the last time she saw both diamond rings inside the jewelry box was in the first week of November at an unknown time frame. The victim also advised that a direct TV repairman was working on the 2nd floor of her residence on 11/15/2011, between the time frame of 1130 hours to 1430 hours. The victim stated the repairman was the only person at the time who had access to the area in which the jewelry was at. The officer gathered the necessary information to generate a report.
Burglary of a Motor Vehicle
At approximately 4:38 pm, an officer was dispatched to a parking lot located in the 5300 block of Rutgers in regard to a burglary of a motor vehicle that had already occurred. The victim advised that she had left her purse on the front passenger side seat as she walked into a day care center. When she returned her front passenger side window was busted out and her purse was missing. A report for burglary of a motor vehicle was generated.
At 7:36 pm, an officer conducted a traffic stop in the 5300 block of Buffalo Speedway, for an offense that occurred in the 6300 block of Buffalo Speedway. Upon contact with the driver, it was learned that the driver did not have a driver’s license, and the vehicle was uninsured. The driver was arrested for driving without a license and failure to maintain financial responsibility.
